Teens Behind the Scenes

Teens Behind the Scenes, previously called the High School Ticket Program, is The National Theatre’s newest program, aimed at enhancing the education of high school students by providing invaluable access to Broadway productions. The National Theatre Corporation initiated this program with a partnership with The Young Playwrights’ Theater to bring their most dedicated students to our historic theatre to engage with the shows in our Broadway at The National Season. The program has grown to now include students from the Duke Ellington School of the Arts and the Southeast Tennis and Learning Center. A crucial component of this program is the opportunity for the students to participate in a post-show talkback with our dramaturg, Jared Strange, and guests from the productions.

For the 2019 – 2020 Season, we are hosting students at John Leguizamo’s Latin History for Morons, Fiddler on the Roof, The King’s Speech, and The Last Ship.

If you would like the study guide, please contact our offices as 202-783-3370.

Included in the program, are:

  • Tickets to the Broadway show
  • A study guide that provides context and discussion questions on the productions
  • An engaging session with a theatre or related professional about each production
